Key consultative services
offered by Project Managers are
- Help with portfolio analysis and
recommend project selection based on defined qualification
criteria
- Work in conjunction with Technical
Leads on technical requirements of implementation
projects
- Estimate Project duration and
resource requirements, assign responsibility for project
deliverables and tasks, and ensure that projects are
delivered within agreed scope, schedule, cost, and
quality.
- Utilize standard project performance
metrics to track project success such as MS Project
Baselines, budget variance analysis, and Earned Value
Analysis.
- Utilize industry standard PM
tools and templates for project documentation such
as Statement of Work (SOW), WBS with MS Project, Risk
Management Plan, Project Schedules, Status Report,
and project closure documentation.
- Identify and manage possible
scope creep, and submit required change orders for
changes in project scope. Negotiate with required
parties to obtain materials, resources, time, and
other things required for successful project completion.
Develop alternative plans to be used in the case of
failed deadlines or other complications.
- Liaison for key stake holders
internal and external to project including Project
Steering Committee, PMO, CTO/EA Office and Business
Champion groups
- Interface with partner vendors;
onsite and offshore; in creating and managing project
schedule and deliverables
